1. It can be confidently wrong. Wrong number, wrong date, wrong legal detail — delivered in a calm voice. Anything a client, lender, or contract will see: verify against the source. Every time.
2. No client personal data. Ever. No Social Security numbers, dates of birth, bank or account numbers, loan applications, credit reports. First names or initials in notes. Keep a PRIVATE — DO NOT SHARE folder Claude never touches.
3. Fair housing check on all public marketing. AI copy can drift into describing the “ideal buyer” without meaning to. Describe the property, never the people. You review every line before it publishes — you own what you publish.
4. No legal advice. Plain-English translation of a contract: yes. What’s enforceable in your state: no. Broker and attorney, same as always.
5. It doesn’t know your market. Prices, comps, days-on-market — you supply the numbers. It explains them. It never invents one.
6. Read the plan before you say go. Cowork states what it intends to do. If delete, overwrite, or replace appears and you didn’t ask for it — stop. When unsure: “Don’t change anything, just tell me.”
7. Taxes and money decisions go to your CPA. The Bookkeeping desk documents. Professionals decide.
8. One login, one agent. Your account learns your voice and holds your clients’ business. It isn’t shared — not with an assistant, a teammate, or an agent you’re mentoring.
Eight rules. None of them slow you down more than one bad publish, one privacy breach, or one wrong number in a contract would. — B.
